Gretta Ziller, is set to release the fifth single, Go On, from her highly acclaimed debut album, Queen of Boomtown, on March 11 as she heads out on tour as special guest to legendary singer and songwriter, Glenn Shorrock, commencing in Byron Bay on March 14.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be going on tour with Glenn Shorrock. To be supporting the man who led Little River Band, one of Australia’s legendary group’s, and who has written some of the world’s most iconic songs, is beyond a huge honour!” says Ziller.
Since the release of Queen of Boomtown, Gretta has come to the attention of numerous tastemakers in the music industry, who have tapped her with nominations for a variety of awards, including the Australian Music Prize, Alt Country Album of the Year, CMC New Artist of the Year, and an “Honourable Mention” in the International Songwriting Competition.
The record saw an impressive array of musicians join Gretta in the studio, including members of Saskwatch, The Cat Empire, and bands of Angus & Julia Stone, Passenger and Dan Sultan, with Henry Wagons appearing as a guest on the dark, Round and Round. Her sound may bear the hallmarks of classic Americana music, but its essence is far more diverse. It defies categorisation and demands repeated listens.
It will be a rare treat for fans of great music when Gretta Ziller joins Glenn Shorrock on tour in March.
