Tamworth comes around but once a year!

Tamworth only happens once a year, which is either a blessing or a design flaw depending on if you're there or not!!

I'm back for 2027, and this one is a little different. There's a new album coming, and rather than wait for the world to catch up, I'm taking a pile of these songs to The Bluebird Room and playing them for you first. Call it an album preview. A sneak peek. Songs let out of the shed for a walk before they're officially allowed outside.

Tamworth gets them first, which feels right.

It's my fifth album, written as part of my Long & Writing Road project, every song is a shared experience, about my life, my cowriters lives and hopefully your lives! It sits where it always has for me, at the meeting point of country storytelling, folk, roots and rock, with honest lyrics and lived experience doing the heavy lifting. These are songs for all of us who work hard and rarely get sung about. Some of them are sharp. Some of them are soft. A couple of them I'm still slightly nervous about playing in public, which is usually a good sign.

Expect a few laughs, a few truths, and a room that feels less like a concert and more like a very good kitchen table with better lighting.

A few years ago I decided that I was going to do my best to play with people that I have a genuine connection and friendship with, so I am so excited to have the wonderful human that is Heath Milner opening up the evening. Heath is a Mackay based country artist, a three time graduate of the CMAA Academy of Country Music, most recently the 2025 Senior Academy. He appeared on Season 6 of The Voice, where his blind audition led to an invitation from Boy George to head to Nashville. Influenced by storytellers like Garth Brooks, and doing this full time now with a clear vision of where he's headed.

Two artists.
One room.
New songs, long before anyone else hears them.
Come early, stay late, and say hello afterwards. I'll have news about the album with me!!
