Gretta Ziller today releases her new single Trail of Taillights.

It follows Breaking Up Ain’t Like the Movies, which reached number one on the AMRAP Community Radio Metro Airplay Chart and number one on the Country Blues Roots chart, and spent a further four weeks in the charts.
The inspiration for Trail of Taillights came to Gretta on the long drive home one Tamworth Country Music Festival, thinking about all the things you miss when chasing your dreams in a car that constantly smells like diesel and cheap coffee.
Ziller says. “The gig finishes, everyone goes home, and you’re on a highway smelling like cheap hotel soap missing your loved ones. I love what I do but it does mean spending a whole lot of time alone”
Trail of Taillights was one of the first co-writes from Ziller’s year long project The Long & Writing Road. Co written with Nashville songwriter Bill DiLuigi, a full time professional writer with international cuts and screen placements to his name and a regular at the city’s Bluebird Cafe.
Trail of Taillights turns the lens on the life behind the stage. Where Gravel found the courage to step into the unknown, Sugar in Your Coffee found humour in perseverance and Breaking Up Ain’t Like the Movies sat in the quieter ache of moving on, this one is about the hours nobody photographs. The gig ends, the room empties, and the drive to the next gig begins.
Recorded with producer Damian Cafarella and mastered by Josh Schuberth, the track is mid tempo and guitar led, Ziller’s powerful alto front and centre, with the same organic band sound that has run through this run of singles.
